In the Encounter CULTURAL VERSUS NATIONAL BORDERS writers, and intellectuals from various disciplines took part in a creative dialogue about present and future Europe. The aim was to start new discussions while trying to avoid over-used buzzwords, instead focusing on artistic contributions, looking at European processes in subjective, independent and provocative ways. Together with this online Encounter a live Encounter took place in Budapest, 19/20 February 2007

BEAUTY POLITICS -  series of events, held at the House of World Cultures in the framework of ABOUT BEAUTY:

  • The beautiful soul
  • The sensual city
  • The perfect human being
  • The Re-Turn of Beauty

Within these curatorial projects, cultural and historic aspects of beauty as well as aspects of beauty in everyday life were explored. Filmmakers, architects, musicians, designers, and others, both exhibited or performed their works and used them as a basis for more general, and informal, comments on beauty.
